Barcelona is an excellent place to taste the maditerranean gastronomy. The use of products like olive oil, vegetables, legumes, fish and pig is traditional.

Catalonia has an excellent compound of wines, amplified by some sparkling wines of rising international reputation.

Barcelona's cooking is of smooth smell and taste, delicate and appetizing, mixing tradition and innovation. The tradition of experimentation and design in Catalonia produces an innovating gastronomy, rarely ordinary or too provocative.

They have also been able to integrate southern dishes, like paella or fideuá, offered in numerous restaurants with acceptable dignity.

Usual dishes are the rossejats, the esquixada, beans with butifarra (a typical sausage), etc. Among desserts, mel i mato (curd with honey), and the excellent and popular crema catalana.
