  • Barcelona's heritage
  • All the city has a high cultural interest for voyagers.

  • In the solitary Plaza del Rei in Barcelona the are notable medieval buildings. It's a beautiful and tranquile urban space.

  • It's model of the churches of the catalonian gothic, characterized by its many horizontal lines and its huge denude surfaces.

  • Apart from the gothic district, this street, from Santa Maria del Mar to the surroundings of the Carrer de la Princesa, is one of the most beautiful in Barcelona.

  • It's a surprising, singular and spectacular monument, where Gaudí makes a naturalist exercise of unthinkable beauty.

  • La Pedrera
  • In the Paseo de Gracia we find one of the most interesting buildings in Barcelona, representative of Gaudí's creation. It's the Milá house.

  • Other modernist sites in Barcelona
  • Throughout the whole city there are magnificent buildings. One of the most singular sets is the block in the Paseo de Gracia with Carrer de Aragón Street.

  • Montjuïc
  • The name comes from the phrase monte de jove (Jupiter) who had a temple here in Roman days.

  • Pueblo Español
  • It was designed in 1929 for the Universal Exposition to illustrate the different architecture styles in Spain.

  • Viejo Puerto
  • Barcelona has always had a great maritime tradition. Its Old Port, the Port Vell, is nowadays used for sport and leisure activities.


  • Puerto Olímpico
  • The Olympic Games in 1992 opened Barcelona to the sea. The ancient industrial area, Poble Nou, was redesigned to hold the Olympic Villa.

  • Parks
  • Barcelona has a magnificent compound of parks. The most outstanding are the Ciudadela park, the Güel park, the Pedralbes park and the Joan Miró park, apart from the sites in Montjuïc.

  • Tibidabo
  • Tibidabo, sited 500 meters over the sea level, is a relaxing zone that counts with an amusing park from the early 20th-century.

  • Other Interest Sites
  • It's worthwhile visiting the Ataranzas, the Triumph Arch, the Santa Creu Hospital and the Palau de la Música.
