Here we find, almost one after another, the Casa Batlló, the Casa Amatller and the Casa Lleó Morera. They are three magnificent, unlike, façades, that have earned for the place the name of block of the discord, for the very different styles it presents.
The Casa Batlló is by Gaudí; the Ametller by Puig i Cadafalch; and the Lleó Morera by Lluis Doménech i Montaner.
Not far away, on the meeting of Roselló and Diagonal streets, we find the nice Casa Terrades, popularly known as the Casa de les Punxes (of the needles), for the six pointed domes, similar to witche's hats. It's from 1903-05 and designed by Puig and Cadafalch.
These architects have in the city some other extraordinary buildings, commented further on.
