Puerto Olímpico

The Olympic Games in 1992 opened Barcelona to the sea. The ancient industrial area, Poble Nou, was redesigned to hold the Olympic Villa.
The Olympic installations generated a new Barcelona beside the sea. Picture Guiarte.

New avenues and rehabilitated beaches amplified the maritime habitat in Barcelona. The Olympic port, constructed for the olympic games in 1992 is sited on a space goverened by two proud 44-floor high towers.

Full of shops and restaurants, the Port has become one of the grand areas of leisure in Barcelona.

It's a tranquile space for walking, even for bike-riding; a festive and sea-rythm Barcelona.
