The artistic heritage in Madrid is outstanding. There are very few arab vestiges, but a great amount of buildings from de Austria and Bourbon era.

It's worthwhile visiting the old district of Madrid, where you can find the Palacio Real, the beautiful Plaza Mayor and some convents that conserve art pieces of high interest.

The Paseo del Prado has some more high quality surroundings, where the beauty of the buildings is complemented by the rich heritage of the museums, which make Madrid an imprescindible visit for art-lovers.
