Puerta de Alcalá

The Puerta de Alcalá was designed by Sabatini. Ended in 1778, it was constructed to celebrate the arrival of King Charles III in the city.

It's constructed with granite and white stone brought from the Central ringe. It subsitutes its forerrunner, a baroque door ordered by Philip III. It's neoclassic and consists on three archs and two square doors. It's also one of the most representative buildings in Madrid.
