Heart of Europe

Prague is sited on the heart of Europe, relatively near Viena and Berlin, and conserves a notable artistic and historic taste. It's worth visiting.

Prague, capital of the Czech Republic, has over one million inhabitants. It's centre is included since 1992 in the UNESCO's World Heritage List. It occupies 496 square kilometres.

Prague was included among the European culture capitals in 2000 thanks to it's historical and monumental quality.

The Vltava divides and organizes the city in two. It gently flows along the city to stream into the Elba.

It flows along almost 30 Km. in the city, crossed by 18 bridges and spotted by diverse islands. It's about 330 metre-long on it's wider section.

Since the 18th-century Prague has four districts of high personality: on one side of the river we have Prague's Castle, Hradcany and Malá Strana; on the other side, the 'New Town' and the 'Old Town'.

The city has not only an undoubtable artistic attractiveness, making it worth a few days' visit, but also a beautiful surrounding, with marvellous castles and villages full of enchantment. Among the nearby towns Kutna Hora is outstanding, also in the UNESCO's World Heritage List.
