The Malá Strana quarter is sited between the Castle and the river. Houses of notable interest, lofty streets and baroque palaces give the area a special atmosphere.
Nerudova Street, which leads from the centre of the quarter to the Castle, is outstanding. The Malá Strana square, with St. Nicholas Church, is also interesting.
St. Nicholas is a baroque temple, by Cristoph and Kilian Dientzenhofer; it's the best baroque example in Prague, with notable frescoes inside.
The baroque organ was played by Mozart during his stay in the city. The façade has curve lines and is decorated with monumental statues. The belltower is an excellent onlook over the quarter.

The huge St. Nicholas church stands out over the roofs in Malá Strana. Czech Tourist Authority.
