Numerous bridges join Malá Strana and the 'Old Town', even crossing over some islands. One of them is the Kampa island, crossed by Charles IV bridge.

Charles IV bridge is the most typical bridge in the city. It joins the two mentioned areas in Prague and is covered with statues and beautiful crossings. It's 500 metre long and constructed in the 14th-century.
There are two towers standing on both ends, Malá Strana and the 'Old Town'.
Both are beautiful, but the one on the 'Old Town' end is outstanding, with a graceful gothic structure, part of the city's old defensive fort. The other one is smaller, romanesque, remaning of the former bridge.
The river's surroundings are beautiful. There are many boats that make tours along the river. The trip may sometimes include dinner. Timetables are established.
