Wenceslas Square

In Prague's modern area, nearby the 'Old Town', the luxurious Wenceslas square outstands among other sites. In the Middle Age it was a cattle market, today it's a business and hostelry centre.
There are diverse and different style buildings, from the last two centuries. Art nouveau, renaissancist and historic buildings stand here.

The grand National Museum stands on one of it's ends, typical 19th-century building, between classic and renaissancist styles. It has a vaste hall, the Pantheon, holding statues and busts of the Czech people. It also houses mineralogy and zoological collections.

A statue of St. Wenceslas, from the 20th-century and by Myslbek, stands in front of the National Museum.
